It was the UK that pioneered the first population based healthcare system back in 1948 called The National Health Service run by each successive administration.

Instead a system of compulsory administration funded health insurance with nominal fees can be provided, as with Italy, which, according to The World Health Organization, has the second-best health system in the world. Canada and Australia have both begun similar systems and have been running since almost twenty and the 1970’s respectively both going by the name of Medicare. general healthcare contrasts to the systems like healthcare in America or South Africa, though South Africa is one of the many nations attempting health care reform. A health care professional is someone who dedicates their skills to the prevention, intervention and aftercare of disease and illnesses with the intention to preserve and protect life and improve the lives of the disabled or infirm.

The healthcare industry is one of the world’s biggest and fastest-growing industries generally consuming at least 10 percent of gross domestic product of most developed nations, healthcare can form a large part of a country’s economy. The only world nation to differ is America with over fifteen percent corresponding to figures published in 2003 but it is set to rise to almost 20 percent by the year 2016.
